I think if your final goal is to have a 2d illustration, then that's the way to go

Can you only have one entry? Or can you enter one into each category? I'm sorry if this was posted somewhere, I thought I looked pretty well and just couldn't find it.

I'd be inclined to suggest putting more effort into one great entry than spreading yourself thin over 2 entries

Hello, I've literally just downloaded a couple of emails from the AVATAR guys with regards to this, so I'll check out the details and post an update in here ASAP once I've had time to look over how it's going to work. Thanks for your patience on this!

Hi everyone! Back with info, as promised

Ok, so what's happening is the AVATAR guys are setting up a gallery on a special website; they are currently fine-tuning it and tell me that this should be done within 1-2 days. They will then launch the final submission process details to everyone.

They tell me that submitting artists will have to register (I've been told this is real quick to do!) to upload your work and provde additional details about yourselves.

I'll keep you posted when I know more - this is all I know at the moment. As this is the first year they've run such a big competition it's inevitable that they've encountered some unexpected issues/delays, so please do bare with us whilst we wait for further info
