Looking at the 'Top' view as the 'Front' view instead opens up some neat avenues. Nice work on the model. Oh, what if the ladders were more of a catwalk/fire-escapeish type of system?

Wow, niceeee. With all round shapes it's gonna be hard to fit in 10000 polys. Machine looks rock solid and huge, no doubt about that.

Actually, It fits within the 10 000 triangles limit.
Smoothing groups help those round shapes. I only need to remove two or three edge loops, then I replace the ladders with planes and bake the exhaust grids in the back into the texture.
