The composition seems a bit hectic and the pallette a little fruity, but overall it's a solid image. Maybe I can give you some more specific critiques later.

Good work .

Very cool!

at first sight it seemed rather hectic, but after looking at it longer, i saw what everything was, and I saw it was good nice composition, although maybe a little too much motion IMO.

The water could use a little work IMO too. The area where it splashes up is pretty nice, altough the water itself... i dont know, the ripples and the colour seems a bit off, could be me tho... anyway

overall i like the pic VERY much, just wanted 2 point some minor things out...but i really like your work, and this one isnt a exception!

EDIT: oh, and by the way, I love the mechs. I think youve showed them once, but could you maybe post a pic with only the mech? (or the link ) would love to see it, just standing still

This i ment for print and a large size which then you can see the detail. The colors tend to get muted a lot with the print bureu at my school so that is why it is as colorful as it is. Once it is printed it will not be so. Thanks for all your kind words. This does need more work but I am out of time. I have one more to do before friday so even though there is a bit I would like to change, especially in the water, I will have to let it go until I decide to returm to it. I have spent to much time on the models and I need to distance myself from it for a spell.

Here are some closse ups. The distant mech is to saturated in green but on print this will get unsaturated by about 33% as well as the darks will get darker helping increase some contrast. I have a love hate with print.

wow, you are right... all those details were lost in the 'small' pic... Its even better then i thought! I think this will be awesome at full size! I still think the water needs work, like you said already. But i withdraw my other crits, by looking at the close-ups!
Those humans are SMALL! or i mean, the other mechs and stuff are BIG! very cool proportions!
Great job man, keep it up!

and is there any chance we are gonna see the full size image? Or do I have to order it

EDIT: i have to agree with qooq ( his post is beneath mine, i edited it after he posted...) more dirt and splashes!

Nice! Looks cool! I like that Chaotic/actionish feel.. In my opinnion it could have even more splatter, dirt and speed!

EDIT: Have thinked of rendering it like it's from a one of those troopers eyes (from a ground) or something?

inspired, thanks. I agree with both on the splashes part. That was one of the things I was working on that got ousted because if time. I was going to have impact craters in the water were the mechs were running. I also wanted to work on rapids in the water to give more motion as well as the way the front element does not quite mix well. More dirt? they are running in water but I did want to add some raytracing on them for more of a wet feel but also was ousted.

qooq, I also thought about the human perspective but you would loose a bit of the work. I would have to texture it deferently so that the close up part does not get washed out. Could be very cool though. The part I like most actually is the canyon and river itself. I like the way it came out. I may just remove the mechs and fix the water a bit for a landscape render. After school that is. I am still working on the other piece and that one I am having to oust even more. Time constrainst are very depressing. I would say I will get back to it but I know I will be busy with other projects. I will just keap all this stuff in the libraury of unfinished work and when I get close to graduation I will review all my work and see which ones I want to return to and polish up for my ree.

<<GhosTS>>, Thanks. It is a possible outcome in a hundred years if the US is not careful with our foreign policies. I am a patriot but I know things can go way to far if the wrong leaders take it in that direction. It is a movie Idea I have been writting. I will post more later. I have a bit to work out.

good work boss...
I'd say add some depth of field...lower the camera and tilt it upwards so the exploding station far away becomes the approximate center of the image then try to get a composition such that the cannons and the river emerge along the radials of the explosion center...loose the wheel on the bottom left...this should add to the dynamics of the scene...
impressive, with all those details on it...

shauryashaurya, thanks, both you and qooq have a good sujestion on a lower camera angle. I will probably play with that a bit. I wanted to post a picture of just the canyon. Here it is.

Thanks, I probably will not use any DOF. I usually find that DOF makes things that are small look right but for large scale atmosphere and perspective distortion work the best.
