Not sure exactly what happened. I do know at one point, the site was hit pretty hard by hackers. Everything was down for a few weeks. In that time, members may have moved on.

Whenever there is a big multi forum challenge, people climb out their caves for fresh air.

Its not just here that "died", a LOT of forums, at least in the 3D sphere took a nose dive in activity all around the same time.

It used to be that galleries and their forums were the only place to post your work if you wanted anyone other than a handful of people to see it, but with social media "networks" and "feeds" etc now it seems a lot more people have taken to just spamming their work on those sites, and I think that's been a big part of the reason so many forums are seeing less traffic.

With the hack/downtime, and the massive spam onslaught these forums were under for awhile, I think 3DT felt the shift toward social media more than some others forums.
