Are you gonna be sculpting at all or straight up poly modeling?

McFly: as an assassin, he has found himself meeting the fist of a few people, here and there.
Roger: I plan in playing in the mud at some point. Any tips, you got any tips? |

I've been looking at refrence dreadlocks for a while, got me thinking mine are too thick. So, re-did them.
![]() Their still "lines" right now, after I'm hapy with them, I'll convert them and make the final adjustments. |

I normally see you modeling then sculpting details on that mesh, but being restricted by the initial topology you created. I would rather suggest you sculpt then retopo the sculpt. That way you're not restricted by the initial topology you created. It will give you more freedom when making adjustments and better bakes too.
Just my two cents ![]() |

My only issue is, I suck at sculpting. So I need a base mesh to work off of.

For sure, it's easier to work from a mesh that has the over all shape you want to sculpt. By all means start with that, I guess I'm talking more in regards to let say if you want to add a bit more volume to a certain place or extrude here or there you won't have to worry about messing up the base mesh and topology you so hardly worked on.
My normal workflow is Basemesh > Sculpt > Retopo > Bake maps > Texture > Pose. the main reason to retopo after the sculpting is because at that point you can do it to fit your sculpt rather than sculpting and being constrained by the topology. Last edited by RogerP; 08-08-2015 at 04:17 AM.. |

I need to stop messing around and get to it. I got speedy over there texturing and here I am, knitting a sweater.
![]() I'm going to redo most of the chest area. Thinking of adding layers of clothing, seeing as he is homeless and it gets cold at night. |

Fixed a few things, created a few new things. Next on my plate: socks and sandals

I'm not happy with it yet. Going to step away and make some weapons, while I get a few ideas to try and kick it up a bit.

Accessories for sure, he is lookin a little plain, accessories should fix that no problem, but i think you've got a really nice shape going, definitely on the right track.
If an assassin is also a bum, does one call him a bumbumin? ![]()
