.3ds to 360 degree view

I am working on a project wherein the client needs a 360 degree view of a product among other things. They have provided a 3ds file of the product. Before I used to take screenshots of the model and then code it accordingly so as to provide the 360 degree view.

Is there any software which takes 3ds file as input and provides 360 degree view in flash(swf) format. I can then just embed the flash on that page and my job will be easy.

Sorry, you don't have many options. There are some paid tools sets out there that might help you. But have 2 ways I create previews.

One as mentioned before, by rendering out a rotation of images. Normally I just render 71 images to complete a rotation. A great thing about this, it will look good. Direct models that run in flash normally look bad. So rendered out images will look much better. I use Irfan view, it is a free image preview program where you can save out "slideshow" as an EXE. Link Example: http://3dautosports.com/samples/2010_Toyota_Spin.exe (A bonus to this way, people can crack open the viewer to pull out the mesh).

You could export it to Unity 3D and create an interactive space, that you can rotate around. Even with my 2nd example, you can export to flash, but with limited shader support. This example is running in the Unity 3D Engine. Link Example: http://3dautosports.com/samples/2012_ford_cup/
