Thanks JuST. We'll get there, slowly, but surely.

This is a quick test I did yesterday just to try figuring the workflow for blending normal maps for facial morphs. Found a few issues, the one apparent in the vid. is the 'flicker' that's happening as the normal map morphs. I'm sure it's not the maps themselves, as if I open them in PS they are the exact same values save for the intentionally changed areas. I figure it's got to be something in the way that morph material works that is causing this to happen. Additionally, this is w/ the scanline render...as MR it seems unfortunately does not support morph materials.

Anyway, here it is. This is the base geometry w/ normal mapping & 1 turbosmooth.

This guy started w/ a quick sketch I did a few days ago. Sculpted the head/torso first as that's all I drew the first go round. Here's the current level w/ the limbs roughed in.

This ones a go at putting together a complete character. Best I can tell the original concept's by L.D. Tully, and the character's called Tenten.

Figure if I start w/ a concept that's already laid out I won't be inclined to 'design' 1/2 way through the workflow. =p

Anyway, here's where I'm at so far. Still rather wip as she's got lots of little accessories to be done.

Decided I wasn't digging the last male bust, so I did another one. Also, I went back to this alien guy a bit yesterday. Prelim sculpts about patched up, then it's time to topo it all together (currently separate parts) and go back for final sculpting.

Eh, forgot to add this other guy. I'd started him for one of the monthly comps a while back. Unfortunately, I came down w/ bronchitis at the time and had to shelf it. I like him though, so he's definately on the "to complete" list.

Thanks man.

Cut a little more detail in this bust last night. It's not a whole lot, I wanted to keep it subtle & not over do it. Obviously, also had a mess about w/ some hair.........feeling very 'meh' about it. Just one of those things I still need to do some practice with, don't really have a technique for it yet that I'm satisfied with.

Anywhoo........

And here's the shenanigans for the night. I started messing w/ some vid capture software & was pausing it for smoke breaks / food etc.

Consequently it kept more accurate time of how much work I was actually doing, & holy crap, I seriously need to cut the sht w/ the cig breaks. I was amazed how much of the night I actually spent not sculpting.

Anyway, here it is so far. Thought I'd try to bust out a full body finished concept in one night, but yeah that's not going to happen, at least not in the middle of the week.

1hr 45min total sculpt time.
