Hmm today was the day when I experienced this for the first (and hoping the last time)

I was working on 4 *.max files - cylinder/box/pushpin/mechanical part with topology issues (deliberately made) - missing supporting edges etc. Needed them for an exam on the university.

I worked in 3dsmax 2014, saved to 2012 since the uni has 2012 installed, reopened in 2012 resaved, reopened again to check and see if it works, copied to USB, reopened it from USB - ALL FINE

Came to uni, no one including me could open the files, failed to open...

Started 2012, remade the 4 files from scratch, failed to open... So a different PC, different instalation of max, different files, from newly opened max - all corrupted and failed to open.

Redid it another time, this time all in one file, worked...

w7 all patched up with the latest updates all the time, as well as max. Really don't know what happened, waiting to go home, so I can open the same files on my laptop - to see if they are corrupt as well.

Angry My 3ds max file wont open.

Hi everyone.
I have saved my Max files on a external hard drive, and few days later I could not see external drive when I plug it to my desktop which has a windows 10.
So I open it with my old laptop which has a windows 7, and i can see and use
the files for work, but when I put the files on the flesh drive, and try to open it on my desktop, 3d Max on my desktop wont open it. Same goes for.obj and fbx.
What is going on?
