Connect a Vertex on a Edge(3dsMax)

Hi, i have a problem. I Model a car and now a have the problem that i have one Edges and one Vertex. On the Edges i must conncet the Vertex. How i do this? Because my English is so bad i make a picture. I hope somebody can explain it, so i find it at the german version .

Hi Aerics,

What you may want to try is to use 'Cut' to create a line down the surface. I've used your image to show you where to put it- see the yellow line.

To do this- select your object > modify panel > Edge mode and click 'cut', near the bottom of the menu. Then click at the start point where you want to make a new line (1), drag down to the opposite edge and click again (2). Finally, right click to de-select.

This should give you a new edge with a ready-attached vertex at each end.

Once you've got this new line, you should be able to 'weld' the new vertices to original vertices.
