Gridlinked's game art HQ

Instead of opening threads from time to time, i'll be using this one for all my game art work.

For which Engine - game art contest / portfolio
Polycount - LP 500 / HP 1.4 million
Texture Size - 512x512 diffuse, normal, specular, glow, opacity
Description of background information on piece - Did this for the remote robots mini-challenge at gameartisans. It's a tattoo and paint robot, hence the needly thingies and some tats on his body. I wanted a punk-ish look, something that would make him stand out, and wanted to use color, as i usually tend to very monochromatic works.

I dont know... the normal maps arent really working on something this lowpoly..... It might just be the lights in the scene tho'..

Alsow the uvw look like they have a llot of wasted space... but i guess you just tried to keep everything nice an straight and let everything have equal texture space..

I wonder if the colorspace for your normal map is being used properly. Some of the lighting/shadowing on it does not match up with your high-poly original at all. In particular, your circular elements on the legs and arms are distorting incorrectly....and badly.

Yeah, i do agree with both of you that there's something... off... about this. However, i've bumped my head into the wall long enough, i think something happened to the max file during a crash and now the lighting / normals are weird, and i just can't seem to fix it, i've tried anything.

As usual when i overload, i'm moving on. Thanks for the comments guys!
