ryvick: His main torso is actually centered at the moment. But I will handle his balance once I get the rig in place, just easier that way.

No update today but I did get a good bunch of the unwrapping done last night. Considering that with work I only get about 2 hours a night I got the head (up to but not including the horns), neck, chest and back, both arms, and the palm and back of the hands unwrapped. Im hoping that next I will finish off the fingers and the legs. Then all that should be left is the horns, damn, not looking foward to that.

Cheers~

Update: Here you go boys and girls, delicious updates.

So I finished the clothes by adding the trim in the model ( I had 1500 "extra" polys so why not) and finally finished all the unwrapping. On top we have just showing off the new clothes, on the bottom we have the unwrapped and normal mapped pedestal and a quick and dirty normal map on him. Mostly just the abs to see how far pushed out I could get away with. So far I am at about 4200/5000. C&C are welcome, please.

Cheers~

Ok, so no one liked my sweet delicious updates yesterday so today I have added frosting. I know no one can pass up frosting. Here are some matte color choices thus far. Trying to find a good combo. What do you all think?

Out of those, I like the top middle one. The one with the green body with purple clothing.

Top right or mid down.
Maybe you need some more work on the hands and the hoof, and +1 for ryvick's comment.
Your concept is really interesting, keep it up!

I say bottom left; the dark blue is a Threedy Color, so I gotta go for that for the armour. The orange is interesting - it is the compliment for blue, plus it's METS COLORS! (I'm a New Yorker, sorry) - but too bright right now. Play around with various shades of those, unless you're going for cartoony, stylized, or some other variation of non-realistic.

The purple and green are garish; unless he's insane, in which case it's fitting. Think, the Joker -- unlike blue and orange, purple and green clash, which implies an "imbalance" in your character. Your character doesn't look insane, so I can't say I like it - it just doesn't fit.

The red and blue isn't bad honestly, but less original. How many demons are red in this comp?

The purple and gray doesn't "pop" as much as any other color choice, though that could be because of the gray.

Either way you go, I just wanna say that the character looks cool! Always a fan of goat- or centaur-esque characters, and your guy looks pretty badass in that respect. It's a very clean model and I love the horns. Definitely bookmarking this thread; gotta keep an eye on this one!

VinsanityV20: Thank you so much. By far a great compliment to have my work admired and whats more, bookmarked. Cheers indeed!

As for the colors guys, I'm still on the fence. I agree with most of whats been said, Visanity, you have an excellent point that most typical demons are red and therefore it would be boring to do so again.

Thanks to some number, or should I say, color crunching behind the scenes and my good friend Warlock 279 I have this new set of choices for you all. Let me know which one is looking best. Note: I plan on pale-ing out the skin tone to make him appear more ghostly/undead/lord of death-ish.

Colors Round 2:

Cheers~

That's pretty difficult. I think I like the blue one with the golden robe clothes.

Yep, I'd say either of the last 2, I think both the silver and gold armor on the blue skin is quite striking.

I agree. I think the bottom middle one looks the best. Has a dark feeling, but not pure evil like.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think I am leaning towards the lower mid or lower right combinations. I think either way I want to lighten up the skin but if I pick the mid one I will end up darkening the main cloth color and if I pick the right I will darken the cloth trim. Thoughts?

Cheers~

On the middle one, if you darken the main cloth color, don't go too much on it. Right now it has a very nice contrast of dark/mid/light tones. If you lighten up the skin color a bit, then you can darken it up, but try to keep a good balance between the two.

I just saw your from Orlando. Good to see other Floridians here

SR: Indeed. Im originally from PA then moved to VA for 20 years now this is year 2 in O-Town. Thanks for your thoughts on the colors. I agree, not too much but some. Especially since I want to "deaden" the skin by making it lighter.

Cheers~
